About SALA Hospitality
Since 2003 this Thai hospitality group has been expanding its luxury hotel portfolio — SALA Resorts & Spas and the sala boutique hotels — which now counts eight working properties between Bangkok and Samui, including the one out at Mai Khao; the group also is the majority owner of Six Senses Samui. On Phuket its first residential venture is Surfhouse Residences, a boutique condominium in Bang Tao that follows the standards set by the group's five-star resorts.

SALA Hospitality reviews: what to check before buying
Check which legal entity signs the contract and who holds the land title and the building permit: projects are often run by a separate project company rather than the parent brand. For completed units, check the title, that there are no maintenance arrears or encumbrances, and the annual service charge and sinking fund.
Legally, a condo can be owned freehold within the building's 49% foreign quota, with funds sent from abroad (FET certificate). The company's experience outside Phuket helps, but ask separately about local issues — the rainy season, drainage and rental management — since it has no completed Phuket projects in our catalogue yet. We request these documents before you reserve and go through them with you.
